It's unbelievable/shameful/disgusting that officials/authorities/individuals in power would abuse their positions/take bribes/engage in such unethical behavior. {It made it difficult to/It was frustrating because/I felt helpless when I {tried to do business/navigate the system/enjoy myself and was constantly met with demands/faced obstacles/dealt unfair treatment.

Our recent experience at this establishment was absolutely disappointing. First, the bathroom was in a disgusting state with leaks everywhere. It caused the entire place smell of dampness. To add insult to injury, the service was even more appalling. The staff were rude and acted completely disinterested in assisting to our demands. We certainly won't be coming back anytime soon.
